$root_url not working? - mjwalsh - 15-08-2011 01:45 AM

It seems as if on a lot of the links the $root_url is not working or updating.. and on my xml sitemaps it's not updating the $website variable properly to match my config. It displays as http://loftyporn.comvideo/ instead of adding the / after .com... this is also happening with a lot of links where it's not using the $root_url to make the link http://loftyporn.com/whatever instead of what it's doing now which is just adding the folders ont op of whatever link you're at now which doesn't work with SEF urls.

is this a problem on just the loftyporn site?
did you edit your config.php lately?

i just had a look at the site, and your frontpage videos are all linking correctly.
maybe cache just had to expire to take on the changes?

The front page seems okay for example:

http://loftyporn.com/category/4/1/Asian.html

If you go here the root url isn't working on the thumbnail links, and a few other things as well.

This isn't the first time I've seen this problem I had the same problem on another site and just went through and manually replaced $root_url with my site url but that's not ideal, now my sitemaps are broken as well as my thumbnail links. Any ideas?

I have edited the config but nothing changed like this. The stylesheet is not very good at going recursive as well, as you can see when you go to a specific category.

pls send us value of root url
it must be "/"

RE: $root_url not working? - mjwalsh - 16-08-2011 12:03 AM

That's what I am trying to figure out.. $root_url is not something I added in. That is something in the script so I am not sure why it's not working. When I view source the href's to the stylesheets are all

<link href="css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<link href="template/exoticblue/default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="template/exoticblue/sol.css" />

Which obviously won't work when using SEF urls like I am. So it looks as if the $root_url variable is simply not passing through global as expected?
In the functions file this is the format it should be following:

href="'.$root_url.'css/main.css"

However $root_url is showing as blank obviously from the view source, and it's being included fine:

function call_metalar()
{
tag_kaydet();
tag_game_kaydet();
global $website,$metalar,$meta_title,$meta_keywords,$meta_description,$root_url,$template,$kolonlar;

Awesome that fixed the XML and the stylesheet problems, not sure how that was removed.

Any idea why the thumbnails on the sub-pages are still not working? They work fine on the homepage, just not on any other pages...
